On October 17th, Minister of Ecology and Environment Huang Runqiu met with Sanda Ojiambo, CEO of the United Nations Global Compact and United Nations Assistant Secretary-General.
During the meeting with Sanda Ojiambo, Huang Runqiu outlined China's initiatives and achievements in green and low-carbon development. He expressed the hope for further strengthening cooperation on the Green Belt and Road Initiative and jointly addressing climate change challenges, contributing to the accelerated achievement of sustainable development goals. Sanda Ojiambo highly praised China's efforts in addressing climate change, biodiversity conservation, and pollution prevention. She described the Global Compact's work in promoting corporate social responsibility and sustainable development, expressing a desire for closer cooperation with China in the field of climate change, jointly supporting and encouraging the business community to achieve sustainable development.
